Why support LCB?

LCB is a charitable trust, funded primarily through the generosity of individuals, trusts and foundations and companies. The LCB Trust changes the lives of young dancers, gives transformational career opportunities to emerging composers, choreographers and designers, offers access to ballet to those who could never normally afford it and brings ballet performances to those who can’t physically visit the theatre.

It is often assumed that the cost of running the LCB is covered by theatre ticket sales. This is far from the case. Although we sell out, LCB needs to raise a considerable sum annually to deliver our professional productions and outreach work in the community.

The work of LCB impacts over 10,000 people every year. You can see some of our statistics here.

  • £3,790 puts one young dancer through the 7-month audition-to-performance experience
  • £6,000 enables a three-day tour to care homes and special needs schools
  • £400 funds a single workshop at a primary school in a disadvantaged area
  • £6,000 commissions a new classical score from an up-and-coming composer
  • £120 creates a beautiful costume for a leading dancer, used for the production, tours and outreach
  • £19 sponsors a ticket for one elderly person to attend an LCB ballet
