Narrative ballets need boys, but too often boys drop out simply because they find themselves alone in a room full of girls and think ‘maybe not’. Ballet schools frequently explain to LCB that they struggle to attract or retain boys. Our Ballet for Boys programme developed to complement each boy’s regular ballet classes and to inspire them to continue with ballet.
LCB's boys development classes enables boys to train in an all-male environment, led by an inspiring professional male dancer. The classes take place on Saturday in the Spring & Summer Term. Participants continue with their regular ballet classes, the programme aims to enrich and enhance their weekly training. We accept referrals from all ballet schools as well as self-referrals.
Boys training with LCB advance quickly when they have the opportunity to study with other boys who share their love of dance.
We have a limited grants in cases of families in financial need so that nobody misses this wonderful opportunity to attend a boys-only class.
Places are firstly offered to boys who attend our auditions each October. We have some places for boys who have not auditioned with LCB and are keen to audition for a future ballet.

It's rare to have more than one boy in a ballet class of 30. Forming this large male-only group showed them that they're not alone
